DAY 2: PIETRAGRANDE -  CAMINIA - SATRIANO

We continue our journey to explore the spectacular views along the Ionian Sea stopping at the coastal towns of Pietragrande and Caminia.

DAY 3: SERRA SAN BRUNO

Serra San Bruno is a charming town of Calabria. The town was founded by Bruno of Cologne of the Carthusian order in the 11th century.
We will tour the monastery together and give you free time to walk among the enormous oak and chestnut trees.

A cooking class and lunch has been arranged for you in a local farm house. The locals will be waiting to welcome you.

DAY 4: STRONGOLI - SAN GIOVANNI IN FIORE

Today we visit the Ceraudo winery in Strongoli to taste the fine wines of the Calabria region including Ciro, a DOC wine accompanied by tasting of local cheeses and olive oil.
Afterwards we are taking you for a ride - and not any ride, but a tractor tour of the vineyard.
We also visit the Florence Abbey in the medieval town of San Giovanni in Fiore, built by the Calabrian monk Joachim of Fiore in 12th century!
DAY 5: COSENZA - AMANTEA - BELMONTE CALABRO

Cosenza was once referred to as the Athens of Italy. Our tour guide will take us through the cultural past of this city.
In the afternoon we transfer to the seaside resort town - Amantea, where we will visit the Byzantine castle built in 839.
Later we will visit a pastry factory in Belmonte Calabro and enjoy tasting of dried figs.

DAY 6: SILA GRANDE - ACRI - SIBARI

On our sixth day we make our way to Sila National Park, Italy’s oldest National Park. Our first stop is Arci - referred to as the ‘door of Sila” as it lies at the base of the plateau.

DAY 8: PIZZO – TROPEA

After breakfast we depart for Pizzo Calabro, a seaport situated on a steep cliff. The first stop is a visit to the Church of Piedigrotta. This is not an ordinary church, since you have to make your way to the beach, as the church is carved in a small cave and according to legend the church was built in the 17th century by shipwrecked fishermen.
Later we make our way to the seaside resort of Tropea. This stretch of the coast line is called the Costa delgi Dei, the “Coast of the Gods” and on a clear day you will enjoy views of the Aeolian islands. You cannot leave Pizzo without tasting the Tartufo di Pizzo - a gelato based version of the truffle. That is why we have reserved a tartufo tasting class at Bar Ercole.
And that’s not all! Today we also experience real Calabrian bread making at Asfalantea,  followed by a typical Calabrian lunch.
